I wouldn't piss on Newt Gingrich if he were on fire.

So Newt isn't really in yet, thought he was, my bad. Gingrich 'highly unlikely' to participate in SC debate By Shane D'Aprile - 04/12/11 09:05 AM ET Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) is "highly unlikely" to meet the criteria for participation in the first presidential primary debate set for May 5 in South Carolina, according to a spokesman. Gingrich spokesman Rick Tyler said that despite committing to the debate, it's unlikely Gingrich will be able to attend, given the criteria laid out Monday. Fox News Channel, which is co-sponsoring the debate with the South Carolina GOP, outlined criteria Monday afternoon that would force candidates to make a decision by the end of the month about whether to get in the race if they want to participate in the debate. In order to take part on May 5, candidates must register a presidential exploratory committee or have announced a formal campaign for president by April 29. "It is highly unlikely that we will meet the criteria to participate," Tyler said in an email. "Specifically, the April 29 requirement does not fit within our time line." Gingrich told reporters on Capitol Hill late last month that he would make an official decision on a presidential bid by the beginning of May, and it appears unlikely he's willing to move that timetable up, even by a few days, in order to get onstage for the May 5 debate. "We're trying to finish out the exploratory process, and I think by the first week of May, we'll have done that," Gingrich said late last month. At the beginning of March, Gingrich announced the formation of a website to "explore" a 2012 bid, but stopped short of formally filing papers for an exploratory committee. Along with Gingrich, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Rep. Ron Paul (Texas), former Sen. Rick Santorum (Pa.) and former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer have all committed to participating in the May 5 debate, but only Pawlenty and Roemer have filed an exploratory committee with the Federal Election Commission. thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/gop-presidential-primary/155433-gingrich-highly-unlikely-to-participate-in-sc-debate

"APNewsBreak: Gingrich says he's running
(AP) – 1 hour ago
ATLANTA (AP) — Newt Gingrich is running for president.
The former House speaker disclosed his bid on Twitter and Facebook on Monday and urged followers to tune into Fox News on Wednesday.
"I will be on to talk about my run for president of the United States," Gingrich wrote after months of publicly laying the groundwork for a bid for the GOP presidential nomination. "I have been humbled by all the encouragement you have given me to run."
The move was hardly a surprise; Gingrich has spent months raising money, assembling a campaign team and visiting early primary states. He also quietly opened a campaign headquarters in Atlanta, and had long been scheduled to address the Georgia Republican Party Convention on Friday in Macon, Ga. Aides say that will be his first speech as a full-fledged candidate."

can't wait to hear the repugniCANTs discuss those Gingrich Family Values™... / Him & Trump both. I know Trump has filed several bankruptcies too. I'd like to get a look at Newt's finances too. He hangs with the big shots down in ATL but always looked out of place when I've seen him. If anything, at least maybe this will be an interesting election season. The other day I heard a card carrying Republican say he's ''not ready'' to discuss the presidential race. This guy is seriously GOP too.

Family values , isn't that a private matter that should not get in the way of how one governs?
We were taught that lesson during the Clinton years.

Gingrich is a side show. My guess is that he and Palin are serving as shit deflectors for Romney who will be the nominee. My second guess is that Romney will win if he has a decent running mate.
Who said running mate would be is anyone's guess, but Colin Powell would be a lead pipe cinch.

It would be nice to think Obama is out, but many thought he would never even get elected. If Romney screws up the way McCain did, then he may get a second term.
