To bad they didn't have English when you were there. Come again.? "TO" ?? "Too" bad your attempt at an insult fell flat on its face. Hixson High School provided a class in Latin from 1995 to 1999. I attended during those years. There, do you feel better? You can keep your penny-ante bullshit to yourself. Let me tell you right now: You're not going to come to THIS board and antagonize me like you tried to do at CMF. Now, if you can't be a mature adult, you'll need to run along and go back to your little sandbox at the HCSD.

Where's Von Scarf when you need him..oh yeah, he passed away. Anybody here go to Brainerd back in the late 60's, early 70's? Dr.Von Scarf was one tough nut. He would have put out the fire himself!

OK, I've read along for long enough....you know I have to declare my opinion. This is also my Alma Mater (96, with honors) and this was also my hubby's fire hall responding to this call, although he was not on shift.
Here is the bottom line, IMO...Yes, education is important and PSAT's mean a lot for some. However, if the principal was in fear of a fire in the walls, she shouldn't wait to be told to evacuate the building. That is not good common sense, PERIOD.
People want to b* about this and that, but let's change the scenario a bit. What if she had waited, chose not to evacuate, and it was a fire that later trapped all students in classes in the dome, burning hundreds of students to death? You guys would be wanting to burn her at the stake because it was a bad judgment call. Just because her fear was not confirmed (THANK GOD), you guys want to dismiss her decision.
The fire department issues a fine, as I feel they should have. Even if the judge "dismissed" the charges, the principal learned a very valuable lesson. I'll be willing to bet, if put in the same situation again, she will evacuate. It's just common sense not to take that chance with people's children. PSAT's can be rescheduled.
FYI- The freshman wing opened in the fall of 93. We were the first Sophomores to come to the High School along with the Freshman.
