A lot of history to cover on that story. I love the old stories about the yellow fever epidemic and how the Lookout Mountain community developed.
As for Larry's character, I couldn't agree more. I did see him in an interview once and he is actually a normal, Southern fella'. He was wearing a golf shirt and living in a mansion. Apparently, he started the comedy stuff to finance his golf habit.

I did see him in an interview once and he is actually a normal, Southern fella'. Daniel Lawrence Whitney (Larry's real name) grew up on a pig farm in Pawnee City, Nebraska. Hardly a Southerner. He credits his college roommates from Texas and Georgia for developing his Southern accent skill. [from wikipedia] I must agree, he is VERY annoying. But the History Channel isn't know for its reverent historical programming, what with the "ghost hunter" and "aliens from outer space" shows.

Yes, Larry is tres annoying. But I find it quite a hoot that he has made a jillion bucks making fun of the same folks who become his fans. And that, m'Buds, is another "Only in America".

MM, he may be nebraskan but he's also corn fed, through and through, just like his nascaar loving fans.

Just because you like NASCAR doesn't make you a Southerner. A redneck maybe, but Southerner ...? Heck, half the NASCAR drivers now are either from the north, mid-west, or California. It's become a real Yankee sport!

In that same episode is going to be the Railroad Museum. It will be a behind the scenes look at how the steam engine n such operates. Will be interesting. I have it set up to record this episode.
