Police Blotter: Montana Man, "Masseuse" Settle Dispute Among Themselves
posted March 7, 2011
Police said a local male motel guest and a "masseuse" who made a room service call had a spirited dispute. But they finally settled it among themselves.
Michael Wren said he flew in from Wyoming to be here while his sister is having a baby. He got a room at the Motel 6 on Williams Street.
He said his flight was late and he did not get checked in to the motel until 2:30 a.m. after having a beer with his friend, Mr. Wood.
He said Mr. Wood ordered a prostitute for him. He said a female showed up at his room and he let her in, though he said he was upset because she was black.
He said the woman took her clothes off and told him it would be $170 for her services. He said he refused that price and told her to leave. He said she became upset.
He said he left the room briefly and, when he returned, $170 had been removed from his wallet. He said that caused the two to have an altercation. He said the woman, Mintoria Barragan, produced a large black knife during the fight and threatened to kill him.
Police who responded to the motel said Ms. Barragan stated that she works for Miss Abigail's Escort Service as a masseuse.
She said Wren called her boss, Travis, several times between 2-4 a.m.
She said she collected the $170 for the service, which she said did not involve sex. But she said Wren wanted sex and became infuriated when she refused. She said he held her hostage until police arrived.
Police searched the room, but did not find a large black knife. They did find a small folding knife in Ms. Barrigan's purse.
They found some pornographic materials hidden in the couch and some used personal lubricants on the bed.
Neither party wanted to prosecute the other. Police suggested they work out the dispute.
The resolution was that Ms. Barrigan left the motel room with $70.
