I watched the last debate and to me it seemed like many of the candidates were actually parroting many of his stances. I was very surprised actually! I think he had an influence in the last election but he's really going to have to bring his A game to get in this fight. Your ideas can be flawless but if you can't communicate them to people with no attention span and even less knowledge you're toast.

He votes no on things he knows will pass just to say he voted 'no' to keep his image up for his base. He's a Texas Republican that voted against the Patriot Act & Iraq war while supporting decriminalization of marijuana. Ballsy if you ask me. I want to get fully behind him this time around but most likely that spray bunny from Minnesota may actually get the nomination.

The only thing that I really disagree with him on is his fed position. If the budget were under control, the fed could do as intended and manage the money supply without damaging the system.

If the budget were under control, the fed could do as intended and manage the money supply without damaging the system. and we've gone over this time after time. The point he makes is the money system cannot ever be under any type of control. Especially one that is out of control like the Fed! They create the booms and busts! They created the first great depression and they have a hand in this today. There is nothing to put a brake on the system, NOTHING! Well there was a gold standard and as imperfect as it was it did help prevent an onslaught of taxation through inflation. The Fed is the fuel that feeds the beast! It must DIE!

If ignorance were truly bliss, the people who think the fed is the root of the problem are delerious with joy. Put us on the gold standard and you'll destroy the entire economy. there's not enough gold in the world to underpin even the US economy and a workable gold standard depends upon one entity being in control of the price. It's a system that has been out of date for a century.

I like the idea of basket currencies with gold and silver legal tender or whatever the real free market place decided on for currency usage. And I would like to see full reserve lending again and the Glass Steagall Act put back into place. I know it's a pipe dream but I can guarantee you there is going to be a wholesale change in the money system very soon.

The repeal of Glass Steagal opened the door to al sorts of financial skulduggery that never should have been allowed. I think it would be an excellent idea to allow gold and silver as legal tender while keeping the paper dollar as the primary instrument. That would give every person soe sense of the effect that inflation is having on their paper dollars. that worked for many years and I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work today. When the currency gets overinflated people start demanding payment in gold. Soon, the currency either crashes or gets restored to equilibrium.

1. I try not to get my news from people who hawk disaster supplies. 2. Nobody said the fed is without it's faults but can you evenimagine the carnage that would come from having Congress control monetary policy? Those goobers can't even manage to pass an annual budget and you want to let them tinker with the very heart f our financial system?

The GAO said the same thing! Perhaps you need to dig down deeper and research it.......... sanders.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/GAO%20Fed%20Investigation.pdf1. I try not to get my news from people who hawk disaster supplies. 2. Those goobers can't even manage to pass an annual budget and you want to let them tinker with the very heart f our financial system? You forget who did monetary policy before the Fed! No more carnage and IMO less. How about a monetary policy in the hands of the free market, free individuals with no control of the government or its banking cartel creation the Fed? Something has to be done to take our most precious "commodity" and return it to the working or real people of America.
