Probably going to end up getting thrown out. one of those he said she said cases. Unless he's got some credible witnesses. If his side is true this is pathetic.

At least this one did the right thing. Defuse the situation, make a report and move along with your life. I wish they all handled these little blow ups as well.

The charges were dismissed in court, so not looking good for her. What a maroon. (her, not him) The 61-year-old Ballanger was then taken to the county jail, booked and had to post bond. His picture was in the "Just Busted" magazine, the suit says.
All charges were dismissed in Criminal Court.
Mr. Ballanger said he suffered permanent damage to his right hand.
He asked $400,000 compensatory damages and $1.5 million punitive damages.

I don't know about physical suffering, but being falsely accused does tend to ruin one's life. No matter how small the charges may have seemed, being handcuffed and arrested was over the top reaction on the police officer's part. She has got to go, in my opinion. You can't ever forget or take away the humiliation and the memories.

I never did figure out why people won't just sign the ticket. If you're really pissed, demand a supervisor but still sign the stupid ticket. Jail is no place to spend more than ten consecutive minutes.

True, in this situation, the accused could have signed the ticket and ended the public humiliation. Obviously, he won in court.
