Better yet, you could just engrave the picture on one of those clay tablets that were so popular back in the day. I don't have the insecure need to "stay connected" with everyone, everywhere 24/7. I have a small group of close friends and we get together and interact verbally, face to face. Old fashioned, maybe. Preferable, absolutely! That does not really work when you have many friends in Cali, relatives in Germany, etc.

Power on in my part of Hixson and 30 MBPS Internet up and running thanks to EPB.
Hixson WalMart open but devoid of customers. I guess if you can't cook it and can't keep it in the refrigerator then why buy it.
All open restaurants I have seen have been packed. I heard that the Hwy 58 Krystal had run out of food by 9:00 Thursday morning. I'm sure they have been restocked by now.
After the 3rd storm we watched vinyl siding, insulation, and soffit/fascia falling from the sky.

From what I'm hearing fatalities are way under reported for Ringgold.

We are fine. Something came through Camp Columbus at the end of our road...close call! Got a lot of debris in our yard and on our roof, but it didn't hurt anything. Worried about my ex-in-laws on Cherokee Valley Road.

Worried about my ex-in-laws on Cherokee Valley Road. Oh no! I hope they are OK. I have family just off of Alabama Hwy and they are all OK. Amazing since they are so close to the devastated area in Ringgold. We used to ride our horses in that area before it was so heavily developed... terrible to see all of this.

My ex-brother in law and one of his daughters lost their houses on Old Alabama Hwy in Apison. But no one was hurt, thank God.

My sister died Monday, before the storms. Other than that my family is all safe and sound. Had no electricity for a while, but that is what generators are for. My friend Tommy Evans was killed by the tornado in Cleveland. His wife Rebecca died of cancer last year. What a week.
God/Goddess Bless

My thoughts & prayers are with you, witchy, and your friends and everyone who has been effected by these storms. We got our power back on last night. No damage here at the Manly estate, but the subdivision next to us has a lot of devistation. $300K homes destroyed.

I know the area Raphael lives in and think they are still without power. I know they had a lot of damage in that area but I heard injuries were at a minimum.
Lets hope!!

I left for Birmingham Ala. on Friday morning. There was no power, gas, coffee etc. untill I reached Gadsden. Trenton had a large amout of damage near the freeway. There were tress with the tops ripped out all the way. When I came back today, the power was restored at the exits.

Lots of surrounding damage! But everything here is AOK! Finally got power back this morning! I wouldn't even want to whine or complain about a few limbs down and loss of refrigrator contents after what happened in Apison, Ringold etc. My heart goes out for those who lost loved ones and recieved inuries. All this material stuff is just stuff!

Good to hear from you, Raph. Thanks! It's been a royal pain but I have to put things into perspective especially since I had many neighbors get trees into their houses or duplexes. I really think the side of Missionary Ridge kept the winds higher or we may have looked like Ringold/Apison areas. Thanks goes out to the guys from Reed City MI who came down and helped get our power on over here.

Thanks for the concern! I'm more concerned about those that really got smacked! but for awhile there... we didn't know if you were one of 'em... / Nah but there were lots of trees down and into houses and power lines. And I do mean lots! I do have a massive oak that you can tell the bottom has came out of the ground a few inches and if it had fell it would have wreaked some major damage on the power lines. I was wondering about that Chattanooga couple that died from carbon monoxide poisioning from running a generator in their house. Thanks for the concern! Glad to get those hot showers back and that battery operated radio and the shows were getting REAL boring. However I will say the WGOW 102.3 was and is a valuable asset to the community for helping coordinate things.
