Was it BF Skinner who raised his baby in a climate controlled aquarium? I can't remember but one of the known psychologists did some sort of thing. This sounds like a psyche experiment to me. Poor kid.

If you take time to read the whole story it just gets weirder. The other kids are going to have serious coping issues later in life.
Learning equality and empathy is great but a person needs to have a reasonable self image that works within the confines of the rest of society. Choosing to be an outsider is one thing. Being taught by your hippie dufus parents that there's something wrong with everyone else and you're the normal one as you stand there in your pink prom dress(boys) is quite another.
