And the scores are in!
TCAP scores are up. High school graduation rates are up. I guess that darned Dr. Scales was a failure after all. <sarcasm>

Thanks Nana. Em, where did you find your quote? It appears that Garrett at the TFP misquoted her and did so with malice. Now we're down to ''she said'' -- ''she said''. Too bad for Thurman that this has happened. Based on her editorial, and assuming she's telling the truth, she has been dragged over the coals without reason. Especially if the conversation was about Montlake Mtn and Sale Creek Mtn. As for the too tight headband comment, Thurman seems to be stooping to Garrett & Favors level. I can't blame her though. She's shown more restraint than I ever could. I didn't know about the redistricting though. This is where the good old boy system will rear its ugly head. www.timesfreepress.com/news/2011/jun/11/redistricting-county/

Are Atlanta's GCAP scores and graduation rates up? Has there been any insinuation of cheating in the Hamilton County scores? No. Unless you count that report on www.conspiracy.com. Right next to the story on Bigfoot having an alien Elvis baby.

thanks.. wonder if the interview was recorded? The inner politics of that newspaper has changed a lot over the past 5 years or so. I'm going to keep an eye on this Joan Garret. Seems like they're going in the opposite direction of where they used to be. Joan Garret Bio: www.timesfreepress.com/staff/joan-garrett/Joan enjoys watching Lost on DVD, driving, eating spaghetti and listening to country music, but her true love is telling stories in newsprint... heh, ''telling stories''.

That is a strange bio - watching Lost on dvd, eating spaghetti. Were they trying to be funny? Make it sound like some matchmaking site bio? And yeah, the "telling stories", really?
