Every Tuesday for the past 10 years, I show up downtown, get my cart full of equipment out of the van and roll up the sidewalk to work. 10 years ago I thought, "Man, I'm glad they're fixing up downtown, these sidewalks could use some work."
That was TEN YEARS ago!
Last night, I watched a lady... a sober one... just to clarify, damn near break her ankle when she stepped into one of the canyons that run up and down the Market Street sidewalk. I mean, really. The city can't put a little effort into fixing the damn downtown area? GET YOUR ASSES AWAY FROM THE RIVERFRONT AND LOOK AROUND!
All of the concentration seems to go into that one little stretch while the rest of the city suffers. They seem to fail to realize that the Aquarium and it's surrounding money pits CLOSE in the evening at that the tourists then have to go into downtown to eat... if they have an appetite after they smell the air... Slums have nicer and cleaner sidewalks city officials... get a grip.

I'm sure the mayor has hired a consultant to look into it. The sidewalks allover town pretty much suck.

Every time I drive on the sidewalks these days I get a bent rim, I'm all for getting them patched.

Market Street from Republic Parking to at Least The Big Chill... incident I saw happened in front of Taco Mac. They were taking her to the hospital... at the very least she had a pretty severe sprain.
