Below is the GIA certification for the solitaire. I hope you can read it. Weight= 1.01 carat Color Grade= I Clarity Grade= SI2 This stone has no inclusions visible to the naked eye nor any noticeable color. It is set in white gold with a platinum head. I will also throw in a 4mm white gold comfort fit wedding band (worth approximately $200) with sale of the ring. Paid $3500, not including the band. Willing to sell as a set for $2000 firm. If you are interested in seeing it, please PM me.

Don't feel too bad. I knocked my stove down to zero and I still got no takers.

Don't feel too bad. I knocked my stove down to zero and I still got no takers. I asked hubby if any of the fire halls needed a stove and he said they can't take donations. That seems stupid to me. But, I don't manage the city budget. We leave that to a bunch of morons! I just really hate to sale this ring to a jewelry store. They will pay me $2000 for it and then turn right around a mark it up to $3500-$4000 and make a killing. I would rather sale it to Joe and make my money and help him out too.

Have you tried ebay? With the documentation you have, you should be able to turn it over quickly and for a good price.

I've had a couple people bite on it, but they can't come up with the money. I say it's a whole lot easier to come up with $2000 for a carat that $2000 grand for a half carat. I also say it's a whole lot easier to come up with $2000 for a carat with certification than it is to come up with $4000 for a carat with/maybe without certification in a jewelry store. Oh well, I guess E-bay is my next option.

Nope. I only wear fake stones. (I will consider it for an add-on to Sarge's tiara.)
Seriously, ebay is the way to go, I think. Sarge and I are both paranoid, but we stuff shop there, even for high ticket items. I recently bought a musical instrument for about $1300.
