I can put some mean databases together as well as just about any computer questions. I'm all about wireless in home and industrial. Got routers probs? Maybe I can help.

Why do Netgear routers suck so bad?
It HATES my Dell. It was just fine with my Toshiba, but every Dell I've connected to our wireless network at home has either been unable to maintain a steady connection or locked out everyone else in the house (and we're all on specific IP addresses).
It's retarded. I usually buy D-Link, but my roommate has a Netgear.

Sounds like my first step would be to go update my computers firmware for Netgear. Netgear is known to have compatible problems with Dell. Also, are the IPs different for each of you? Are they dynamic or static? And is it a hidden network? Are you running vista or xp? Netgear is a pretty good router, so don't go rushing off to get another. Their "help line" is good also. I would give them a shout.

Static ... Each one of us has up to four IPs on the router on which to connect ...
I guess I've just never had any luck with Netgear, but I respect your opinion ... I will get with the roommate and see if we can't hash out the firmware together ...
