Do you have someone you would recommend to install gutters at a reasonable price?

Depending upon how much you need done I have two different vendors. If it's less than about 100 feet, call drain right. They do a good job and aren't too expensive. If it's more than that, I can send you my regular guy.

I never knew trailers needed gutters. Yep, it has a shingle roof, and the water just runs off and makes a small ditch. And the pc word for it now is manufactured home. ;D ***edited to make more sense***

They'll always be trailers to me. Now I know why I had those small ditches around the one I lived in during my first marriage--no gutters. It was 12x52 with an aluminum roof and would likely have made yours look like a mansion on the hill. I love the really, really old ones where the insides were all real wood panelling. Some family friends had their late 50s or early 60s era trailer well into the late 1980s. Real knotty pine. I loved it.

As a matter of fact I do live on a hill. And it was a joke about the manufactured homes. I live in a trailer and will always be trailer trash.

Does anyone out there have any experiences with these "gutter guardian" type devices. Not the screen mesh crap that fit over the gutters, but the sheet metal "thingies" (thingies - that's a technical term) that make the rain water run into the gutter but the leaves just wash right off the edge and down to the ground.

Not the screen mesh crap that fit over the gutters, but the sheet metal "thingies" (thingies - that's a technical term) that make the rain water run into the gutter but the leaves just wash right off the edge and down to the ground. Don't waste your money. They rely on surface tension to pull the water around the nose of the helmet and drop it into the gutter. That works fine if you have a shallow pitched roof and it doesn't rain really hard. Either of those things will cause the water to shoot right over the top. Additionally, they will stop most leaves from getting into the gutters, but they wont stop pine needles or those little brown pod things that come off the oak trees in the Spring. Once the gutters get enough crap in them to clog, it's over. There's no way to get in there and clean them. WE sometimes use a gutter screen that clips into the edge of the gutter and slides under the first shingle, but it's not a ton better than anything else. Face facts, you're just gonna have to clean them.
