and that is usually the meal I get. To share of course. TONS of food for about 33 bucks. (i have them add all the meats)
Way too much for even 3 people to eat.

Our first Famous Dave's experience was at the one at Hamilton Place, and we loved it.
Then we found one in Frederick, MD and visit it often, it's a good thing it's a twenty mile drive...we'd have to paint over the mirrors in the house.

haha, no shit, CV, if I didn't have two kids to feed also, i would probably have most every dinner there. It is addicting! I do always purchase a sauce before I leave. That way I can pretend I am there when I use it (though the meat is never the same

Haven't been to a Mexican place in Frederick yet, but just found a Hard Times Cafe, GREAT chili, and behind Famous Daves as it turns out. I have eaten at John's, I live just a couple miles away, GREAT steaks!

back in 2004-05, my BF was working south of frederick and the crew was put up at the days inn on buckystown pike Su-Th. i stayed out there with him for like 9mos, commuting back and forth baltimore every day. oh the things we do for love.
the mexican place i found is called casa rico and it's on 'the golden mile' (Rt 40 business). if you are heading west toward braddock heights it's almost right before the place where you hit I-70 again heading out towards hagarstown. it's kind of near where the ground round is on the same side as the outback steakhouse and the mall. it's been a couple years so i cannot remember the cross street. i think there's a jiffy lube right by it. it was really good--the owners are either indian or pakistani but the kitchen is fully staffed with mexicans.
now, my xH and i used to hit john's whenever we could on trips to virginia to see the folks. i love all the neat decor inside john's. when my parents were still alive, they lived in wytheville va which is about an hour south of roanoke on I-81. to miss DC traffic, we used to drive out to frederick, hit 340 south through harpers ferry and charles town, pick up Rt 7 at berryville and cut over to winchester to get I-81.
have you ever eaten at that other restaurant between john's and berryville? i think it was called the rainbow room or something to do with rainbows was on the sign. it kind of looked like a little country western bar or some such. i'm sure know you know where i mean, right? we always wondered about that place.
you live in God's country.

I think you're talking about the place right at the Va. state line, haven't been there either, but have been meaning to stop. The have an outside BBQ cooker going in the summer that smells real good!
That's the route we take going home to Chattanooga, 7-81-40-75, have stopped at Wytheville a few times and enjoyed it. We like Charles Town a lot, reminds a bit of home with the terrain and the rivers, Jefferson called the view of the confluence of the Potomac and the Shennandoah 'worth the passage from England', I'm inclined to agree.

yes, that's the place.
have you tried 'the dairy corner' which is on the left of Rt7 right before you get to I-81 at winchester? it's been there for ages--like 50+ years or so. another nifty place, should you and the mrs. wish to take a sunday drive for ice cream. they have 3 different kinds of twisted softserve. last time i went there was a raspberry and vanilla and they had a chocolate and banana but my favorite is the vanilla and orange. my xH used to enjoy the place as they have malts--something you don't find everywhere anymore.
