We went in there last night for a drink on the way home. Upon walking in the door, one gets the strong aroma of deep fried food and new carpet. They have a pretty nice looking bar area to the left, that looks out onto Frazier avenue.
We went into the bar and got a table. The waitress was just giving out bills to the next table. After that, she proceeded to the only other table in the place and started a long conversation with the people sitting there. I looked to the bartender for help, bu he was engaged with a couple of young ladies, and therefore not interested in us.
We waited around for about 10 minutes and left, having never been so much as spoken to by any employee.
I know you guys just opened, but you're going to have to do better than this if you plan to stay open. The restaurant business is not one that suffers fools or incompetents lightly.

Yes - we've been looking forward to trying them out. Hopefully they'll straighten up. Servers can be replaced!

I hope these will be replaced, or properly trained. Every place has problems right after start up, I just hope they get it together. I've found Neal to be a heck of a nice guy over the years and I would hate to see him tank on this project.

Fredo, You should give them another chance. I just returned from having very good food and service. The Spinach dip is very good. I had the turkey club and my friend had the Philly Steak. Both come with a side. I also had a salad , which was fresh and crisp. Our waiter was attentive. I love the view from the bar windows. I also noticed they have several choices for Mrs, Fredo!

Second Chance: Mrs Fredo and I went there for lunch today. We were greeted at the door by an energetic Neal and shown right to a table. Our perky little waitress appeared withing a few seconds and got our drink order. Appetizer: Chips and salsa. The salsa appeared to be made in house and the chips were warm, as if freshly made. Entree: I had a bacon cheeseburger with some seasoned fries and Mrs Fredo had a black bean burger. Both were spot on for both quality and portion size. It's remarkably easy to screw up a burger, but they hit the mark today. I'm glad to see that they have improved their service. I like the look and feel of the place and hope to see them in operation for some time to come. I give it the Fredo stamp of approval.

I LOVE black bean burgers. I will have to try this out. Where there any other veg options that the Mrs. would be interested in?
I am amazed at how pathetic some places in this town are on the veg offerings. But, some places have several choices, and some places will work with you on veg'ing a dish for you. I guess I am too used to the west coast, tho. Usually a lot more options.

We find the same to be true with local restaurants. The veggie options are pretty thin. They will most always make something special, but it's an extra hassle.
Jet Stream had about 3 veggie options.
The black bean burger A black bean wrap, with pieces of the veggie burger and a salad of some sort.
It's not what you would call wide ranging, but it passes for Chattanooga.

Had lunch here last week with a friend.
We were about the only ones there and it was a Friday..being on the 'far end' of Frazier is a bitch.
Food and service was great and Neal checked on us three times.

We went again last night. Still good food, still good service... but the place was dead empty a 9:30 on Friday night. We all know what's coming. Either Neal is going to do some serious marketing or we're all going to be sitting around wondering what will be moving in there next. I hate it for the guy, but if he doesn't figure out how to go over to Sams and get a bunch of cheap shrimp for his free happy hour buffet, he's toast. Dang.

Attention beer nerds!
The jet stream grill now has Fat Tire amber ale. To my knowledge, it's the only place in town that has this most excellent beer.
You rock Neal.

Fat Tire is some good stuff. A lady we worked with in CA would go back to CO to visit family and she would bring a case back for those of us in the office - as we could not get it there. Amazing that it can be gotten here. Yet another reason I need to go check the place out.

I've had people shuttling six packs home from ski trips for years. Now if I could just find someone to bring some Moose Drool from Montana.

Now that one, I have not had. Like the name tho. Maybe you should tell Neal about it, maybe he will find a way to get it at his restaurant!
