Does anyone remember these? Everytime I think about them I think about Kramer getting a sunburn. Hahaha!

Great episode! Ours was on Brainerd Rd. but it didn't last long. Not greasy enough I suppose. I was still a carnivore at the time & I liked the roasted aspect.
However, as for the best chicken in town, I have to go with Lamar's on MLK!

I used to eat at the one on Brainerd Rd quite often. In fact at that time I lived about 1 block away. The chicken was pretty good IMO. That was around 1990-91. Then it became a Rax restauraunt if I remember correctly.

However, as for the best chicken in town, I have to go with Lamar's on MLK! Chicken? Did someone say chicken? I probably eat more chicken than anybody in town. Sometimes I cluck. So where abouts on MLK is this Lamar's? I gotta give them a day in court.

So where abouts on MLK is this Lamar's? I gotta give them a day in court. Near the corner of MLK & Central, just before Central when going toward the ridge. They're only open at night. It is the old motel with the long awning over the steps. It is like a blast from the past. When you go in the front door it looks like a 60s diner but you have to go down the hall & head toward the back where the bar is. The juke box is famous for its jazz selection. I can't believe you don't know about Lamar's fried chicken! Old school for sure. I'm pretty sure it is made from scratch.

They do undoubtedly have the best fried chicken anywhere.

Didn't there used to be one of these on Hixson Pike about 20 years ago? I think I went there once. Good ole Kenny. Wonder whatever became of him? Is he still alive?
