That sums it up pretty well for me. Someone sent me an interview with Michael Pollen. Mrs Fredo read his first book recently and found it extremely insightful about the origins of what most people call food. Excerpt from the interview:This seemingly-simple message is surprisingly complex, because there is food, and then there are what Mr. Pollan describes as “edible food-like substances.'’ Mr. Pollan, who writes for The New York Times Magazine, developed something of a cult following for his best-selling book “The Omnivore’s Dilemma,” which traced the food chain back to its original source. But while “Omnivore” left many scared to eat, “In Defense of Food” helps the reader bravely navigate the food landscape, explaining what food is, what it isn’t and how to tell the difference.well.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/01/17/an-omnivore-defends-real-food/

He is pretty much right on. I do believe one should partake of meat every now and then (especially fish). I wish I could eat that type of diet I do cheat too much but I have cut out a lot of garbage foods and hope to move more towards what he says. With all this cloned foods and GM foods its really hard even if it says "organic" to know exactly what your getting. It's a wonder why so many of us have health issues. I'd say 75% of what ails us is directly do to our diets. And don't even get me started on the fluoride that's in our water. BTW for those who are having many health issues if you can afford it I found an excellent product that Greenlife sales. Everyone should take this product if you can. I've researched each key ingredient and as of yet today I have found NO other product that can match the level of nutrition this product provides. I'm taking about 4 scoops a day. You can order it on line at vitacost. I'm a firm believer that we don't get near enough "green" in our diet. I would ask you to look at the ingredient and do a search on each key ingredient. They make several like this product but so far this one is one of the better one's IMO. Here's a link....... www.vitacost.com/Greens-Today-Superfood-Original-Formula#IngredientFactsThe spirulina and chlorella together pack a one two punch like no other but some of the other key ingredients such a soy lecithin helps many of your internal organs such as the liver (boy do I need that one). ;D It's a lot cheaper to order at vitacost then to buy it at Greenlife though. It's almost $50 for 30 scoops at Greenlife. It's $25 plus $4 shipping at Vitacost. One of the best products for those who are either lazy and can't eat all that stuff or you just feel terrible and run down all the time or both.

You should read his first book. It's a heck of a good insight into the food industry.

You should read his first book. It's a heck of a good insight into the food industry. Maybe you could give a synopsis. I would bet it has to do with all the poisonous food additives that they have been adding since after WW2. Is it really any wonder why Americans are all so fat and have numerous diseases and such? What good does the FDA actually provide for the American people?
