I used to drink, back in the day (college, mostly). Kind of got over it, now I drink, but very rarely. I think I had a couple of beers back in May of this year. Not really my thing.

Ate at a place in Collegedale today called "Machu Pichu". It's run by a Peruvian family. They specialize in Peruvian / South American dishes. Today I had beans and rice, a stewed chicken leg, some kind of beef and vegetable stew thing, and some potato salad that had some beets mixed in. DELICIOUS! $7.62 including a drink and taxes
note: They are Seventh Day Adventists, so they are not open from 4:00 pm Fri until 4:00 pm Sat (I think I got that right)

I have seen you drink that at lunch frequently. Does it taste like regular? Keep it up girl, keep it up!

I only allow myself one Diet Sunkist a day, one soda a day. The rest is water or Powerade Zero. I like the sunkist a lot, I used to drink diet mountain dew, and then they changed the formula and i did not like it, so found the sunkist. We both really like the diet sunkist.

I'm going to have to try that. I don't like many of the diet drinks.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid I'm stuck with most of this medication for the rest of my life. It's a total of 20 pills a day, but they're still adjusting on it so I don't know... I did get lectured about the fact I had made Chicken Kiev for dinner the other night. I told the doc that at least I didn't have a bean sprout stuck in my teeth... that bastard didn't find it amusing so I said, "What do you care? You get paid either way." To which he replied, "Yes, but if you don't do that, I get paid longer." He'll just have to live with the shortage because even though I eat healthier probably than 90% of everyone, I'm still not going to completely deny myself at least a few good meals.

An excellent idea for a lunch salad...
1 Large Granny Smith apple, sliced bite sized. 1/4 - 1/2 cup each English Walnuts and crumbled Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Raisins if you like them... I don't.
Raspberry Walnut Vinaigrette dressing...
YUMMY... and it's HEALTHY! (ish)

My parents do that and it is more of a lifestyle than a diet. They love it. You might check into it. I know when we eat at their house we never have breads, pastas or desserts (except Manchild he always does dessert). Their food they always cook fresh and it's great and healthy. edited to add: no potatoes, rice or corn either. They eat lots of other veggie sides though.

I would so be in trouble with that diet! My faves are breads, pastas, rice and potatoes. I like other veggies as well, but I like that stuff. I would hate to have to be on that diet.

The trick to that diet is no enriched flour and no refined sugars. You can eat true whole wheat products and brown rice if you want too on it. But they have to be true whole wheat.
