Girl,i looked at the link and I love these. And hell yeah, they are alot cheaper than the real thing. I loved the 140 antique silver and the 106 antique copper (since I'm a copper nut n all)
Nice stuff!

I like a lot of the foam/PVC trim products as long as they're high enough off the floor so that nobody touches them. You can get a high level of detail without spending a lot of money. In this case, I would say that these are going to be better than tin or steel just from a POV of ease of installation and dent resistance, plus they;re probably going to be a lot more forgiving of a slightly uneven ceiling than tin would be.
I'll call today and see if I can get some samples for free, but since they sell a sample package on their web site, I'm not especially hopeful.

Do you think they would add any energy efficiency?

Do you think they would add any energy efficiency? Maybe a little. I expect that the foam ones would have an R value of 2-3 and if properly installed they could give you a little protection against air in/ex filtration. I wouldn't use them for the energy savings, but it certainly won't hurt you.

Did you see the pic where someone put them on their stairs? Cool idea, but not my taste. I just wonder how they're holding up.

Pretty stuff. Are the metal tiles still made?

They still make the tin ones RT. I see a lot of salvaged pieces that are always bent up. I landed on that site looking for ceiling planks but those tiles really caught my eye. I'd planned for white planks..
Attic, I stenciled my stairs once upon a time. They really took a beating so I eventually went back to washable paint. My house was teeming with children back then though.

They're here. Like most of this faux stuff, they look like crap up close, but I think they would be fine with your ceiling height. Let me know when you want to get the samples.

Maybe next week sometime? Wed or Thus? BTW, we're planning to rough in the attic before tackling the ceiling. I'm in the market for planks to lay out so that I can get a look around up there without worrying about falling through the ceiling. I'd like to have enough to have a 3' wide walkway all the way around the exterior wall. The first thing I have to do is chase the birds out .... again. I think this will be a solo project for me. In other words, if I want it done I have to do it myself. (Just the catwalk.) After that it will be putting windows in the faux dormers if possible. Let their be light!

They're here! Thanks for dropping them off Fredo! I'm not sure what to think about them. I just went to the site again. How much for the S&H? You WILL let me pay you.

I can't remember whether or not I bought you a beer at the last Happy Hour. I think I will do the small guest bath just to get a feel for it. That ceiling is the lowest in the house too.
