So, we're going through the phase where they will do or say anything to stay up later and not go to bed. Lately, it has been "I'm hungry!" The first couple of times I let them have a banana. For the last few weeks I've been making sure they have a healthy snack before bedtime but they still ask for food no matter how much I feed them before bed. I have stopped giving it to them. Anyway, tonight my son said he was hungry. I told him he could have breakfast in the morning. I know he is not really hungry because I fed him applesauce and popcorn at 7PM. He said, "my stomach will really be rumbling in the morning and I"ll have to eat 25,080 pieces of food to make it stop." I don't know where he came up with that number. I didn't even know he knew about numbers that large.

Sugar .. your story reminded me of a nursery rhyme.
My children have done the same thing. I guess they all probably do. Anyways, after a few nights of reading this particular nursery rhyme, .. I immediately stopped all bedtime munchies. I told them, it would turn them into greedy nans. ;D
Come let's to bed
Come, let's to bed, Says Sleepy-head; Tarry a while, says Slow: Put on the pan, Says Greedy Nan, Let's sup before we go.

I had heard it a little different, but that makes more sense. To bed, to bed, said Sleepy-head Oh no said Slow I am hungry said greed-gut Lets eat before we go.
