Wow!!! 48 and she would put most of you on here in shame. It's all about Jenny you know. Craig that is. Go to the site to see her new bikini picture. I saw this on Entertainment tonight and they said that this is a real photo with no changes. Valerie Bertinelli rocks a bikini on the cover of People magazine's April 6 issue. The gorgeous 48 year old hasn't worn a skimpy two piece for 30 years. This hot edition will hit newsstands Friday, March 27.
The former child actress set out to lose 50 pounds several years ago and became a spokeswoman for Jenny Craig. She has kept the weight off for over a year now and decided it was time to do one more thing for herself.
Bertinelli started an intensive cardio and strength workout two months ago, hitting the gym five days a week. We think you'll agree that the results are quite amazing.
The actress will appear on Oprah April 1. No word on whether she'll be sporting the tiny bikini - but we wouldn't be surprised.www.bittenandbound.com/2009/03/25/valerie-bertinelli-people-cover-photo/

Just because you get a little age on you does not mean you have to let your body go to hell.

I've seen her on TV pushing Jenny Craig, yet another diet in the multi million dollar industry. Don't worry, she gets paid big bucks to "support" Jenny Craig. Besides, she was never obese to start with. I couldn't care less. What I'm concerned about is the fact that no matter where I turn, there is another diet ad. This is seriously effecting children, especially girls. It is causing Bulimia and Anorexia. These kids are actually and literally killing themselves to try to look like a super model and that's just wrong.

I'm glad for Valerie Bertinelli. I'm glad that she has the time and resources to focus on her weight and fitness level. I'm frankly more impressed by women of my acquaintance who work full-time, care for their families and look after themselves as well.
Ditto what angelheart said about bulimia and anorexia. Teaching a female child that she's not fat and encouraging healthy eating is hard work. It's a challenge to teach any child but female children are exposed to body-conscious advertising quite early in every media outlet. What I can say is that we parents must lead by example.

I can only speak for myself as I have never had the pleasure to meet any Fredoland ladies. I'm about Valerie Bertinelli's size, but my bust is bigger than hers. I have a pink bikini that is dying to be worn.....and I will do it this summer for sure.

As of Angelhearts post... Yeah but if she post any they won't be of her. ;D BTW from you Jenny Craig causes girls to have anorexia and bulimia. How do you suggest these advertisers of these types of products advertise? And how much level of reponsibility do the parents have when it comes to what your children and teens watch in regards to the types of ads and watching what they eat or not eat?

How do you suggest these advertisers of these types of products advertise? And how much level of reponsibility do the parents have when it comes to what your children and teens watch in regards to the types of ads and watching what they eat or not eat? I don't lie or make false statements. I've been very shy and downright scared to post pics of myself due to some personal things in my life that have serious repercussions. Believe me I'm justified. Maybe once the rough road I'm on right now will smooth out and I'll post a pic of myself when I'm on the beach. As for Jenny Craig and the endless weight loss ads that bombard us, I blame society's obsession with the perfect body. These diet companies play on that, not caring about the consequences. The truth is I've seen it effect so many young girls in a very negative and harmful way. I doubt very strongly these diet companies are in it to help people lose weight, they are in it for the money. What should we do? That's the conundrum. When children are young we can pretty well control what they see and watch, but when they reach the teen years, life gets tough for them. They have posters, ads, magazines, tv, etc shoved right in their face all the time. It's really subliminal advertising. If they don't meet "the standards" of what the perfect body should be some take matters in their own hands and this leads to eating disorders.
