I don't think we can predict what will happen. South Korea is geared up to fight after the attack from the north. Ideally the diplomats will be able to work it out. China is a North Korean ally, we are allied to the South. Scary times.

I wonder why were really still protecting this Cold War relic. I'm tired of being an empire with bases all around the world with the idea that this protects us over here and that we need to remain on the defensive forever and spend buckoos of money on defense every year. But now back to reality and the reality is that the powers in charge would gladly make North Korea a crater goes back to that axis of evil thing.

I really can't see how the South can let this one go. Saber rattling and empty threats are one thing, but now they've lost a ship and a good portion of it's crew.
How can any country let that stand?

This is a time for serious diplomacy. SK may have actually provoked them but most likely we'll never really know for sure. NK is seemingly backed into a corner on this one. China is just too big, too populous and too well armed for its own good.
