TVA has restarted it's generation partners program, so we're looking into some solar panels. I'll let you know if the combination of tax credits, incentives and the premium purchase price of the power produced can get us into the 5 year payback window. If it can, I expect that we'll be putting in a lot of PV systems in the future. www.tva.com/greenpowerswitch/partners/index.htm

It would seem to me that you would be missing out on a lot of morning sun.

Dude is coming by at noon tomorrow if you want to stop by. Couldn't make it. How'd it go? Also, swing by my place when you get a chance. It is looking better. We had to completely demolish our front porch and replaced the concrete with yellow pine. I want to put varnish on it but can't decide if it is the right thing to do. It is in full sun part of the day, facing due east. I've already put 2 coats of sealant on it until I can decide what to do. I really like how it looks when it is wet but it dries back to a dull finish. Right now I'm still recovering from the mess of it all.

It would seem to me that you would be missing out on a lot of morning sun. We don't get the morning sun, but after around 10 am during the summer, the shed roof on the back gets full sun all day. Still waiting on the numbers, but it looks like the payback is still running in the 9 year range.
