I just had artery clogging SOS from my kitchen. It was good too. I wish I could make good white gravy. When I try it, it either get's too brown ot to thick or I run out of mlk. We don't drink milk , so I usually have only a some half and half or a bit of buttermilk. I need gravy lessons.

I would gladly give you gravy lessons but I do not measure things. I just put stuff in until it looks right. The first gravy I every made, we ate it in slices.

Tell me you don't put half and half or buttermilk in your gravy!!! You can use half and half if you dilute it. We just never have milk in the house, so I have to make do with what I do have.

you just gotta stop at the 7-11 and pick up a pint, that's all. I usually get the urge to make gravy after I've already been cooking, so running out to the store isn't an option.

Us too Nana. We're invited to a feast that starts around 4 PM today .. I can't wait. A friend who is home from the big NYC has been missing out on Southern foods so she is going to get a real treat today.
Friends and food .. awesome way to start the New Year!
