Hey, anybody got any suggestions on a nice place for a company Christmas party? Not so much a party, just dinner, although some of my crew will usually have a few drinks.
What about Foodworks? Several of you guys gave it a thumbs up but, I have not been there yet.
The crew this year will be about 15 to 18 people depending on whose significant other comes.
Can't be a seafood place, two of the girls actually dislike ALL seafood. I think they are nuts, but they are great employees, so I want to make sure and accomodate them this year.
Last year I took everybody to the boathouse. Won't make that mistake again. Service was not so great, but since we had a large party the gratuity was added in and let me tell you -that- sucked! The quality of the food and the so,so service left us all kinda pissed.
Thanks, any help will be appreciated!

Foodworks is great for a christmas party, 212 market has a side room that serves that purpose really well. If you want to go more upscale, St Johns has a banquet room as well as a couple of other areas that are well suited to parties.
All of these places have great food and service.

Thanks for the input guys, One of my employees has mentioned the Southern Belle Riverboat. Never been there personally, anybody got any feedback from a visit there?
Fredo, is Foodworks a little or a lot more casual than 212?

I hope that made sense. Neither place is eithe excessively formal or casual. Both are places where you can dress nicely without breaking out the monkey suit.

The problem with Foodworks is that they don't have a private room if you are wanting to have a party - neither does Abuelo's. If you had enough people you might be able to ask to use that area where the restrooms are upstairs at Foodworks, that seems to be the most private area in the restaurant. Don't know if anyone has tried to reserve any of the private rooms at St. John's, but the last time I did they had a price guarantee you have to agree to. I forget what it was since it's been awhile, but it seems like it was in the range of $600, which means if you purchase $500 worth of food, you still have to pay $600. Table 2 which I have marked off my list got a huge amount for their room. It's been a while, but it was over $1,000.

i checked out the st john's website last week and i remember seeing $750 on the small room. judging by the prices on the menu, it shouldn't be hard to meet that minimum at all.

The southern bell is nice, especially since you are counting on dinner and little entertainment. Another one I have enjoyed over the past couple of years is at Chattanooga Billard Club. Nice food, nice atmoshpere, pool tables, and drink for those who want them. The party I go to, they usually have them set up the black jack and poker tables and we play with the chips they give us. Then at the end of the "gambling" we bid on items on auction. It is a great time!!!! Best ones I have ever been to!!
