Seems like there are some bad oysters floating around the Noogaville. The article I read didn't say what restauraunts were selling them. The oysters are harvested from West Karako Bay. You might want to hold off on eating them for awhile. They are causing cramps, stomach virus ect.

It's unforgivable that the restaurant in question wasn't named immediately. Instead, it appears that the health department together with all the local media outlets have a no-raw-oysters-anywhere-anytime agenda & to effect that mindset, they're willing to tar & feather every single restaurant that serves raw oysters in the process even though there's only one guilty of serving the public tainted food....
Inexcusable!

No kidding on the inexcusable part of the report. The Chattanoogan? Boathouse? Bonefish? Red Lobster? I'm guessing it was not a chain store but one more locally owned & operated. Either way, eating raw oysters has been risky for a while now.

I think Boathouse and Chef Lin are the only 2 here that sell raw oysters. The restaurant should have been named!

all restaurants with county HC violations get listed weekly in the annapolis paper. i think this is a good practice and it really makes you think when deciding where to eat.
do they do this down there?

THey publish the health inspections in the paper, but in this case they wouldn't name the restaurant in question. I agree that it's inexcusable to fail to name a public health hazard. Allow the restaurant to respond, but let us know where it is.

I do not eat the nasty things because of the risk of bacterial illnesses and the fact that they are linked to hepatitis A. Our livers get enough damage as it is!

I like oysters and will continue to eat them. If roasted goat from a Paris street vendor didn't kill me, then I doubt that a couple of oysters will do the job.
