This one could use a congression investigation (won't happen) but you can bet some palms have been greased under the table on this one. Who exactly are the Calorie Control Council? What kind of lobbying front group are they in DC? Guess you can figure that one out. Saccharin was removed from their listings of hazardous substances. The EPA has now followed suit, after a petition was filed earlier this year by the Calorie Control Council, an advocacy association that claims to represent the low-calorie food and beverage industry. It's all about the benjamins baby and health be damned. This group is still spouting BS about how wonderful aspartame is. The EPA like anything in DC is full of corruption. Besides who wants to ingest the nasty stuff anyways. www.caloriecontrol.org/sweeteners-and-lite/sugar-substitutes/aspartame
