Interesting stuff hill, but would Ann Coulter have been better? She would not have done this, but maybe something as ridiculous. I really didn't like either.

true link...the thing that turned me off on Ron, all the mud slinging. he and his chief of staff were just nasty with it. and Ann had the balls to door-knock in the hood all by her self. she got my vote on that alone. so far Ron has been a dud for me, cept for the audits and shedding the city of some thiefs.

Ralph Kelley....back in the early 70's. even though I was a wee one at the time and the parents didn't like getting annexed into the city at the time, I agree.

I would love to know what Marti has on the Mayor. Has to be really big for him to give up his political career for her.

He has certainly made himself unpopular. I can't imagine why he would go to such lengths for Marti. She should have looked more closely at the timing of her resignation.

She has something, affair, drugs, booze, boys, etc.. what would be worth giving up your political career for people not knowing?

I see it differently; what Marti has is "on the City", not on Mayor Littlefield per se. She knows the secret, beneficial, behind the scenes deals that have been cut over the years for former City employees, nd the Mayor (right or wrong) would rather give Marti benefits in exchange for her silence than subject scores of politicians & City officials to "under oath" statements in advance of a lawsuit Marti would definitely bring .....

it is about knowing when to hold 'em , knowing when to fold 'em ;D the last thing our little town needs is a huge lawsuit. the mayor hired a lawyer last week.

I hope Marti, her personal attorney, Judge Williams & everyone concerned decides to take the City Council's sham position on benefits to court -- I'd like to know what elected & unelected officials have really done throughout the past once they're put under oath.

Ward and Ron, big buddies.

HC, you've rekindled my interest in local politics.
shady behavior is not a new development in our city or county government. and, walter williams as your lawyer is a statement unto itself. throw in some paty lawyers and you've got a room full of good ol' boys ..IMO they are going to squirm out of this.
if the city council is crooked, what do you think the county guys are up to? at least, for the present time, the school board seems to be held in check by r thurman.
PS-- rumor has it that ann coulter is back in town & meeting with the usual movers & shakers.

and after several thousand tax dollars in legal fees, we the tax payers are left with a dud. the mayor and most of council knew she lived out of district. I say it's time to clean house. <sweep> re-elect none of them.
