Just to repeat: "it's a joy to have you on this forum. I hope you will contribute early and often. " I've put out the welcome mat. But if he repeats his past history "of doing whatever he accused of doing," it could get a little.....noisy. And I would hate for this nice little forum to turn into another "Police Blotter" which is essentially a 24/7 exercise in self-gratification. He's comported himself perfectly well here. Feel free to argue, but argue about new offenses instead of dredging up the wounds of the past. I think we've all had enough rehashing of past indignities to last for a while.

The demoted police officer in question made some comments to a female officer who in turn ran to HR & burned his rear with her convenient interpretation of what he told her?
What's going on over there -- this is getting VERY UGLY.....

kordax, if a female officer made the comments to her male co-worker and the male co-worker ran to HR with his "convenient interpretation" of what she said, would you be wanking on the male officer tattletale or would you be wanking on the catty gossiping female officer?
curious, since you brought gender into this convo.

curious, since you brought gender into this convo.
I brought "gender" into the thread? My bad; next time I'll just digress into something totally unrelated to the core issues -- maybe an unrelated thought like "what do police officers polish their brass with -- Braso or something else?" Or "when you skip work & disappear into mountainous woods, what kind of shoes should you wear? Standard police issue or sophisticated hiking boots?"
Maybe things like that should be "brought in."
But, the newspaper covered a police officer's light speed demotion because one single WOMAN sensed that her hyper-delicate, F-male centric mental trip wire was inappropriately touched setting off within her a cluster bomb of gender-based hurt feelings so she did the only thing a gender warrior hurt feelings female should do – she ratted him out to HR.
But the newspaper story had some inconvenient allusions to gender like 'department officials refuse to tolerate a discriminatory climate', and 'Officer Stewart is accused of making light of Capt. Snyder's situation, records show, causing Officer Royval to see him as "gloating about the fact Chief Snyder was missing." A specific comment about the then-chief's "way to the top" was interpreted as offensive to every female in the department, according to the internal affairs report".
Why did I see a gender component to the story --- I don't know other than THAT'S THE BE-ALL & END-ALL AS TO WHY THE POOR GUY WAS THROWN UNDER THE BUS -- not going along with the CPD's official protection scheme to shield Jeanie Snyder from any & all criticism will get a male officer demoted or maybe even fired -- what a stellar way to run a department....

I am amazed at how many times people go running to their superiors with a complaint about a co worker. If I had a problem with a co worker I would address them. What joy does someone get from costing a person their job with running to a superior. There are more important things in life than creating havoc over words spoken. If someones life is in danger or if someone were stealing from a company, I can see this. But for gossip that is crazy. Just do you job and get on with it.

if someone at work was telling everyone that you or, better yet, if they were telling everyone that your daughter slept her way into her well-earned position at her work, wouldn't you want someone to report them to HR? it's defamation of character, it's wrong and folks who roll that way should be repremanded.
the same principle could be aplied to your grandson... if someone was telling lies around school that he had cheated his way into a gifted glass or some other scholarship program, wouldn't you want someone to speak up regarding these lies?

What does that mean?
And what happens when a female is promoted or given special considerations based on her having awarded sexual favors to those in positions who are able to benefit her? It happens in every business & organization out there & it really has an adverse impact on the other females in the workplace whose talent & merit are ignored as the slut sleeps her way up the ladder.....

I chose to keep my mouth shut and eventually the truth came out and the person spreading the rumors looked like a fool. I did not go to my superiors and whine and cry. I knew the truth the person spreading the rumors knew the truth and it all worked out. As far as my daughter or grandson, my daughter is capable of handling her self (she has been taught well) and my grandson. Would I be angry? You bet you ass I would be. But there are ways of handling situations and not whining or crying to superiors or going off half cocked and creating havoc. I am an adult and do not need others to fight my battles.

for the record, cs has avoided this topic from the beginning. except to wish former asst. chief snyder the best. now that this demotion is made public, i'm thinking .. WTF?
bad move .. it is bad enough to get a demotion but to have it go public like that. seems wrong to me.
this is a done deal .. lets move on.

No one should be allowed to forcefully defend the entity they work for, right?
People should just take it, since they signed up for it, right?
People should just allow outright falsehoods and unsupported accusations go unchallenged, right?
You ever get tired of jumping back and forth over the fence?

Questions:
How would the female snitch/complainee know precisely what was an outright falsehood & what wasn't?
Doesn't that imply that she had 1st hand knowledge of something she couldn't personally have 1st hand knowlege about?
Isn't this yet another example of someone else being used as a communications mouthpiece for Jeanie Snyder?

OK. But just like all things, everyone sees things differently. I will take care of the situation myself in my way and in my time. I will not play childish games and run to Mama or Daddy to help. I have been on this earth a long time and have learned a lot in my life time. I think that in the work place there are more important things to worry about than some one spreading gossip or lies about someones personal life. If I had done half the things I have been accused of in my life time, I would never have time to rest, much less post on a forum.

As per usual, the entire point was missed. It is OK for one person to defend it's profession, but not OK for another to do so.
No use trying to explain it to those who aren't capable of comprehending it, really.

" it's "
you're a rude bastage, aren't you?
now, regarding your commentary...
you said defend "forcefully"... no one mentioned using force when defending in my scenario.
then, you 2nd and 3rd comments were directed to things nana said, not me.
lastly, your fence jumping comment has no precedence here.
no points were missed, K-rashFU... you just made no sense and i pointed that out.
now, while you're here.... why don't you answer Kordax's worthy question, eh...?
many of us would like to hear what you have to say regarding what he asked.

From CoN to K-Rash: "why don't you answer Kordax's worthy question?" CoN. My sweet, naive CoN. That is just not going to happen. You see, when K-Rash is challenged with facts he cannot defend, and questions that would force him to admit defeat, he does one of two things: If it's someone he doesn't like, he resorts to profanity, name-calling, insults, CAPITAL LETTERS, and all that. Real macho and butch, kind of like the cop in the Village People. If it's one of the "Tool" partyin' gang, he (to put it in cop lingo) "stands down."

No, they were directed solely at you, but they went so far over your head, you couldn't see them.
And you missed the point, yet again. Forcefully, IN WORDS! We type words here, remember? No force involved. Are you that dense or are you just faking it?
But are you still tired?
These questions?
Brasso? Doesn't work so good.
I haven't disappeared into the woods while on duty, yet, so the question is irrelevant.
I would wear sophisticated hiking boots if I was in the mountains .
I have no idea what he/she means.
And that relates to this topic, on this board? Please point out one lie, or one incidence of dishonesty that you think I have proffered on any topic, on any board?
That may be harder for you than the sophisticated hiking boot question, but at least try.
I am sorry you think that I am not entitled to express an opinion because the taxpayers pay my salary.
So, back to the point...
An LE agency has the right to control what their members say publically and do while on duty, under the color of authority. An LE agency does not have the right to control what it's members say and do while off duty as long as those words and actions are legal.
A freely expressed opinion, proffered while off duty, falls under the old First Amendment. Yep, it actually applies to cops also and that may be why you have this obsessiveness about anything I post. Until Roberts and the Supremes rule otherwise, I think I will continue.
There have been numerous attempts, by some, to squelch my off-duty, lawful, First Amendment rights by cutting and pasting my written words and sending them to IA, Department of Homeland Security and other entities in the hope that since they couldn't silence me with a logical argument, they would silence me using other, more scurrilous (And unlawful) methods.
Seems I am still here and still employed.
I reckon you can learn to deal with it.
Or not.
