My daughter is working as a student teacher and is working with the "slow" kids. She says almost all of them are on ritalin but it's the junk food they bring for snacks that surprised her. There's also some who believe that exposure to classical music helps devolop and make smarter children. So keep them away from the horror flicks and make them eat their veggies and listen to classical. ;D

The crap that some people feed themselves and their kids amazes me.

Does it actually "lead" to a lower IQ or do they start out with a lower IQ and eat this crap because they are too stupid to eat "right".
I don't see how the "poor" can afford to eat junk food. I feed me and the wife every day for less than I could get a couple of "super-sized value meals" at the McFatties Burger House.

How much easier is it to stop by a drive thru and get a couple of those .99 centers? Also think about how much $$$ these food manufacturers and their crappy food have spent on commercials the last several decades. I bet if you went out on the street and did a random survey that 7 out of 10 people would say McDonalds food is perfectly healthy.

I've got a little more confidence in the public than that. I'd say that 8 of 10 would say "it's unhealthy, but I eat it anyway". Convenience is a powerful thing.
