Mrs Fredo is making the crust for a pizza as we speak.
Does anyone here cook? (heating up hot pockets does not count as cooking)
I was thinking of adding a recipe/cooking type board.

I can do spaghetti does that count? I think for most people the days of "scratch" cooking are long gone. I do remember my granny doing so and it was some of the best food ever. Man I long for those days.

Mrs Fredo cooks from scratch almost every day. If you want to eat healthy food, it's the only option.

I cook from scratch A LOT.........I can't have my kids eating junk. They need brain and sports power. This month not so much, since I am working and they are also, but most of the year. I make spaghetti sauce ( secret is a bit of sugar and to drain the meat and rinse before adding to the sauce) chicken n dumplings. I grill mostly year round. I also make a mean texas caviar.....which is not what you think ..........I would love a recipe area. I have a recipe for my grannies apple stack cake..........it is about 100 yrs old ( the recipe that is) and yummy!!!!!! Even when we make cupcakes, we usually don't ice them. Sort of like muffins. I have a great recipe for strawberry bread.......gawd I love that stuff.

I would love a recipe section. I wouldn't have much to offer, but could use a few good recipes. I like quick recipes the best. I am a pretty good cook as far as basics. I make wonderful spaghetti, chili, shepard pie, etc.
I was raised strictly on red meat, as my dad would not eat fish, chicken, turkey, NOTHING but beef...oh and pork. But really, the only pork we ate was during breakfast, like bacon or sausage. Since I didn't have a huge variety growing up, I don't know how to cook a lot of the foods I love.
I am with my dad on one thing though...no fish for me! YUCK!

Mrs Fredo made another one of those godawful good pork chops last night. It's no wonder I'm getting rounder by the day.

Husband is cooking a roast in the crock pot that makes its own gravy as it cooks. Then we will have mashed down taters and green beans or green peas. I will eat too much and gain more weight. I love to eat.

No sausage in this batch. Mrs. Fredo doesn't eat sausage.
When I made it myself in the past, I always used Italian sausage or ground pork along with whatever other stuff struck me at the time.
