I have to say it is all about texture for me. The rice looks like mush with black bugs in it. Sorry, it is all about texture. That's not rice, it's risotto. For those of you who aren't familiar, risotto is a pasta that is roughly shaped like rice. It has a softer texture than rice, but a firmer mouth feel than flat pasta and is a truly delightful entree or side. It looks a little funny in the pic, partly because it's a little blurry, but trust me. It's awesome stuff. Those "bugs" in it are pieces of sun dried tomato that have been marinaded in olive oil and garlic for about 2 months. Don't let my poor photography fool you, this is good stuff.

Tonight, I made Chicken Paprikash with egg noodles. Spaetzle would have been better but at $4.19 a box, I don't think so ..too rich for my purse. My dear hubby had two hugh plates piled high ..wish I could eat like that..the man never gains a pound.

This evening it's homemade soft taco's for great niece and nephew ages 4 and almost 2. They love spicy hot foods and onion... go figure. Future Prilosec consumers I'd say. Either that or they will have stomachs of steel like their great aunt. ;D

i was going to cook tonight but i may hold off until tomorrow... i'm working on a TUI right now.
anyway... i'm going to stir fry some sliced beef with a bit of garlic and worchestershire... after, i plan to add it to a double batch of uncle ben's wild rice, to which i will also be adding scallions, orange-flavored ocean spray craisins and some chopped pecans. it makes for a tasty one dish entree with which i will serve some buttered baby carrots. i'm sure it'll be tomorrow afternoon, though. and, it'll last for a several days... being single, i am not opposed to eating the same thing a few nights in a row.
tonight, i'll probably just whoop up a toasted cheese sammie and maybe some tostitos and salsa.

"being single, i am not opposed to eating the same thing a few nights in a row."
Love my BF and all but sometimes I miss that. Used to go out for lunch and have my veggies then and just have snack foods or wine and cheese for dinner. This having to cook every night gets old. I bought my house 10 years ago and for over 5 of them my stove was like brand new!!

i still haven't cooked my stirfried beef/rice thingey.
BF showed up this AM with a big grocery bag full of eggs and sausage and potatoes and onions and english muffins and butter and two kinds of juice. so, CoN cooked this huge breakfast which ended up being lunch since BF had to wake me up first and ended up getting distracted for a bit... but, anyway, CoN cooked this giant breakfast feast and no way was she gonna cook dinner tonight.
CoN was stuffed. for the day. she even took a nap later.
though, i did just finish eating some peaches for like a late night snack.

Mrs Fredo is making Calzones tonight. mmm! Now the big question..... Is Mrs. Fredo feeling the morning sickness and if it does start does that mean less home cooking for Fredo?!

I would just love a new and exciting meal cooked anywhere! I ran out of new and exciting about 300 meals ago. And now I'm tired of trying some of the more complicated and ending up tasting and going, nah... I'm sure that's not what it was supposed to be like. Roast pork tenderloin, yummy! Try it on the grill too shecat. Double yummy! Tonight I'm doing broiled pork chops and homemade fries. Maybe now I'll go do some garlic bread with parmesan (sp?). I think it will all call for a glass of wine too.

"And now I'm tired of trying some of the more complicated and ending up tasting and going, nah..." I don't do "complicated"!!! The same old crap gets really boring and I don't enjoy cooking in the kitchen I have right now. Someday, many dollars from now, when I can remodel my kitchen with storage, appliances, etc...I will truly enjoy creating. "I think it will all call for a glass of wine too." Most things call for a glass of wine--or two, three...

There is always the Food Network's website: www.foodnetwork.com/ I surf there sometimes when I'm bored. I love Rachael Ray's 30-Minute Meals recipes. They are usually fairly easy and always good.
