just put the chicken in the crock pot for the casserole tomorrow and finished up making something called "Jezebel Sauce" it's great on crackers and cream cheese. Now time to go see the family Wow, now I know we're related. I love cream cheese and Jezebel sauce!

Kind of a sweet & sour sauce. It's a mixture of fruit preserves, horseradish and a bit of dry mustard.

Okay... I finally decided to come in here and do this. I cook from scratch practically every day. I normally cook enough for the family plus some extra for my wife to take to work (that's RIGHT. I'm a guy and I cook.)... sometimes enough to feed her team as well. I find my recipes all over the place but I am a HUGE fan of Alton Brown. If you want to learn how to cook things easily and also learn the science behind the food, watch his show Good Eats nightly on the Food Network. I shall try to maintain a Recipe of the Week in here. Maybe a couple or three a wekk, but always a main one. If I forget, someone remind me. I have 40+ cookbooks plus my own gathered recipe collection of about another 150 recipes, so I have plenty to choose from. In all likelihood, I can also answer some of the cooking questions you have plus give some shortcuts for stuff. See? Me being a "house husband" benefits everyone... I posted this on the recipe swap thread as well....

We found one of these SchlemmerTopf® Glazed Clay Roasters at an estate sale the other day for $5.00 Had never tried one, but considering they sell new for $40.00 bucks on the net, I figured five for a brand new one couldn't hurt. It was great. If you can find one of these things cheap somewhere, get one and try it out.

i made the jersey boy some brownies tonight... i dotted the batter with cherry pie filling and then i drew a knife through the whole affair to create marble swirls. i'm not sure how they turned out yet since they are still to warm to cut but i worried that they seemed a bit underdone but maybe that was just the effect of the cherry goo.
i'll report back later.

We "practiced" for my older daughter's upcoming graduation party last night. I have discovered, with thanks again to the television show Good Eats, a way to make nice, crispy chicken wings without frying. In fact, when finished, they are almost completely fat free. Anyway, we had a batch that consisted both of regular hot wings and orange glaze wings. My daughter approved both so now my menu is set. Anyone wanna come help cook for thirty starting next Thursday night? (Party's next Saturday)

well... the boy made veal parm from scratch today and it was fantastic. on a bed of herbed garlic linguini.
and the last of the black forest browines for dessert.
i took pics but it will be a while as i still have a cake to photograph. this i did the old fashioned way, using up an old roll of real film.
